Aloe Vera and Essential Oils Cream
We use so many packaged cosmetic products that we forget that sometimes there are 100% natural alternatives. And they are often cheaper, chemical-free solutions that are easy to make at home.
The Aloe vera cream is a great example of this. The idea for this came from a herbology walk that we took a few months ago, where we realized the true medicinal powers of the Aloe vera leaf.
The gel of the leaves is perfect for direct cutaneous application, due to its anti-inflammatory properties, helping to regenerate the areas where it is applied. In addition, it stimulates the growth of new cells and the replacement of dead cells. It can also help to protect against solar radiation.
Aloe vera gel can also be applied to the scalp, it stimulates hair growth not only by removing dead cells that block the follicles but it also helps to balance the pH from the use of shampoo and other hygiene products.
To make this cream even better we decided to also use coconut oil and chamomile and lavender essential oils. As they will be absorbed by the skin it is quite important the use of organic oils. These can be found at specialty stores or on Amazon (link in the list of required products).
Coconut oil is the second main ingredient and in this case it serves as a moisturizer. It is easily absorbed not only by the skin but also the hair.
Chamomile oil also has anti-inflammatory properties and helps eliminate skin redness and makes it smoother. When applied to the hair, besides relieving irritations on the scalp, it helps to moisturize and enhance the color of light hair.
Lavender oil is normally used in aromatherapy because of its relaxing properties, but when applied to the skin it is known to help eliminate acne due to the anti-bacterial action and controls the oiliness.
This cream is quite light and can be used on all skin types. After being applied, it is almost instantly absorbed and leaves the skin extremely soft and luminous throughout the day.
