A sweet and spicy gift
For some years we have preferred to give our closest friends a gift made by us instead of buying something.
It gives us much more pleasure to offer something made by us than to spend a day in a shopping center looking for a trinket that in the end may not be a gift as good as we would like.
For Christmas 2016 we decided to make a variety of chocolates with different toppings. Although the end result might not seem like it, it is fairly easy to do.
In addition to a few chocolate bars, you will need a few more ingredients to incorporate into the melted chocolate. Actually you can add whatever you want, but we decided to go with combinations that we like: dark chocolate with salt flakes, white chocolate with whiskey and rose pepper and milk chocolate with nuts. We went with two versions for the milk chocolate; One with a selection of nuts and another with hazelnuts and toffee.
To clothe the chocolates we decided to wrap them in parchment paper. Simply cut a piece, add several squares of chocolate in the center, wrap and tie it up with some string. To give it a special touch we added a branch of rosemary. Sometimes the simplest packages are the prettiest.
